Garda Lake tour: first day

Sirmione

Sirmione is a characteristic village in the southern part of the lake. Where there are some different places. Here you can visit, like the famous Catullo’s caves or Scaliger Castle and finally the elegantly thermal baths.

Our advice if you don’t have much time is to take a walk along the lake and discover the streets of the village center, buy local products and taste delicious ice cream, or take a boat ride and admire Sirmione from another perspective.

Desenzano

Desenzano is a nice village, where you can walk and take a good coffee. We recommend you to visit the castle, duomo, Malvezzi square, lakeside, and the small port.

Roccia di Manerba

The Rocca di Manerba is located on a rocky spur and can be reached by a not too strenuous uphill walk. A walk in the middle of nature, where you can climb on the remains of an ancient castle and appreciate a priceless view of the lake when you get to the top.

Tignale

Tignale is a small village near the lake. We recommend you to visit the sanctuary, easily reachable by car, and admire the beautiful view of the lake.

Giardino Botanico Heller

A small botanical garden, that encloses art and nature. in fact you can admire numerous works of art, sculptures made by international artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Peter Pongratz, Susanne Smoegner, Erwin Novak, Edgar Tezak, Rudolph Hirt!

 Vittoriale degli italiani

In Gardone Riviera, you can visit the house of the famous poet Gabriele d’Annunzio, known as the “Vittoriale degli italiani”. The Vittoriale includes a museum, gardens, and many buildings. The most famous is D’Annunzio’s house, “la Prioria”, where the poet, writer, and politician spent most of his days.

Salò

Salò is a town on the shores of Lake Garda. The city was the seat of the government of the Italian Social Republic from 1943 to 1945, and the Republic of Salò has often been called “Repubblica di Salò”.

Strada Della Forra

Strada Della Forra is a very narrow road that passes inside the rock. Many tourists from all over the world stop to admire this beautiful excavated cave, where the road passes. Terme di Colà di Lazise, Villa dei Cedri

In Lazise there is a fantastic thermal park very particular. The pools have a temperature between 33° and 39° and seem to be ponds in the middle of the lawn.

Peschiera del Garda

Peschiera del Garda is a nice place that you can walk lakeside, between the streets of the center, full of clubs and stores, and visit the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino, the ancient walls, and some buildings.
